Message from the CEO
The Work That Brings Architecture to Life
Our work plays a vital role in bringing buildings to life.
A construction project brings together an enormous amount of information and expertise — design, construction methods, structural and building systems, materials, cost, schedule, and many other considerations.
Our role is to understand and integrate all of these elements and translate them into practical solutions, so that a building can be completed safely, functionally, beautifully, within budget, and with sufficient time to meet the schedule.
I believe it is no exaggeration to say that shop drawing work can have a significant impact on the success of an entire construction project.
Of course, architects and designers are responsible for establishing the overall concept and fundamental design of a building.
But turning that agreed vision into a building that satisfies the client, the designers, and the people who actually construct it — bringing together design intent, technical expertise, constructability, cost, and schedule — is where our work has tremendous value.
A Profession with No Ceiling
Shop drawing work is far more than simply producing drawings.
It requires a broad understanding of architecture and construction, as well as the ability to bring many different areas of technical knowledge together.
You need to understand the designer’s intent, consider construction methods and details, coordinate with other trades, and keep cost and schedule in mind.
As your knowledge and experience grow, you can go beyond following instructions. You can begin to develop better solutions yourself and actively propose improvements to designers and contractors.
If you develop a strong understanding of architectural design as well, you may eventually be able to contribute to the design itself — not simply by drawing what has been decided, but by saying: “There may be a better way to make this building work.”
From there, new opportunities can open up, including the possibility of being entrusted with projects from the design-drawing stage.
In other words, the more knowledge, experience, and technical ability you develop, the further you can expand the scope of your work, your responsibilities, and your own possibilities.
I believe that, ultimately, the limits of what we can achieve are not defined by our job title or our current position. They are defined by how much we are willing to learn, challenge ourselves, and grow.
I Want You to Enjoy Growing
Of course, everyone has a different pace.
Everyone has different goals, and there is no single definition of success.
But I hope that as many people as possible will choose a path that allows them to develop their abilities, take on greater challenges, and discover just how much they are capable of achieving.
Set a goal that is just a little higher than where you are today.
Work toward it.
Then one day, something that you could not do yesterday becomes something you can do today. A task that once required someone else becomes something you can handle yourself. And eventually, you may be entrusted with responsibilities that you once thought were beyond your reach.
I want to work for many years with people who enjoy that process of growth.
Your Growth Creates the Next Opportunity
The effort and achievements of each individual eventually become the strength of the company.
As the company grows stronger, we can create opportunities to take on larger projects, more challenging work, and greater responsibilities.
As CEO, I want to continue creating new opportunities, new roles, and new stages of growth so that I can respond to the ambitions and development of our people.
When our people grow, the company grows. When the company grows, new opportunities are created for our people. And those opportunities create the next generation of growth.
This is the positive cycle I want to build together with all of you.
I believe that this kind of environment can give greater meaning to your daily work, while helping you build a fulfilling and rewarding career.
We want to do work that we can be proud of — work that plays an essential role in bringing great architecture to life.
And we want to build a place where you can continue expanding your potential throughout your career.
That is the kind of company and the kind of work environment I want to create together with you.
